IMPACT Concussion Test

Hi Everyone,

If you haven't already done so, please take your initial baseline IMPACT Concussion Test or update your impact test information online at the link below. IMPACT Tests are renewed every 2 years-7th, 9th, and 11th grades should all need to update their IMPACT information. All student-athletes must have their information updated.

Southold families can now take the IMPACT Concussion Test from home. Please direct to the link below and enter our school code to test. Let us know if you have any questions.

Advanced Placement Process

I had a few families reach out regarding the Advanced Placement Process (APP) for any 7th or 8th grader that would like to participate in a JV or Varsity sport as a middle school student.

APP Steps:

  1. Read the Athletic Placement Process for Interschool Athletic Programs (See attached link)
  2. Fill out and return the Parent/Guardian Permission form to the athletic office (Pg. 18-19/Doc B and attached) prior to July 15th
  3. Acquire a coaches evaluation (Pg. 21-22/Doc D)
  4. Make a doctor's appointment with the nurse for July 27th at extension 1344
  5. Review the fitness requirements and have your child begin training  (Page 33/Doc J)
  6. Fitness Tests will be administered on July 28th in the high school gym/track
  7. Final step-Students have a 3-day tryout with their chosen team. At the conclusion of the 3-day try out coaches will make the decision to keep the athlete at the JV/Varsity level or have them return and wait for the middle school season to begin.
